Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

21st April 1926 - 8th September 2022

The Slaugham Parish Councillors and staff are deeply saddened by the announcement of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This is a significant moment in our nations history and this loss will be felt throughout the world.

Her Majesty ruled for longer than any other monarch in British history and served as our Head of State with great dignity, composure and compassion, giving us 70 years of dedicated public service to the UK and the Commonwealth. A strong and reassuring figurehead during enormous social change and demonstrated unwavering support to many through challenging times.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the members of the Royal Family, as well the Majesty's staff and household.

It is important to note that all of the plastic wrapping should be removed before laying them. At the end of the mourning period the day following the funeral the flowers will be removed. All flowers will then be taken away to be composted, with the compost a tree will be planted at a location in the community, agreed by the Council, in memory of the Sovereign.
